Spotted: Healthy habits die hard: In times of stress, people lean on established routines -- even healthy ones

The stress that causes poor decisions can also increase reliance on habit -- even good habits. 

This suggests that formation of good habits is one path to changing behavior, especially in stressful situations. 

Perhaps also stress can be helpful in forming new habits? Eg a mobile device that aids learning during sensed stress?
